Electric. Wish I could have been at this concert. The groove of the live instruments and singers brings so much life to Bonobo's already incredible tunes.

Saw the concert version on youtube and liked it very much. I guess the live interpratation with the multitude of instruments suits this music better than the studio album. Big thumbs up to Bonobo. I adore Szjerdene´s singing on Towers. We could forever bursts with energy - so cool.

"Stay the same" with the voice of Andreya Triana was the first track I ever heard from Bonobo. It stays a favourite in this live performance.
By the time Bonobo plays London's legendary Alexandra Palace on 28th November 2014, the epic career-defining tour around his latest album "The North Borders," the band will have travelled 180,000 miles, taken in 175 shows in 30 countries across 3 continents over 18 months in front of 2 million people. If you’ve seen the show - with its incredible, finely-honed hive-mind of a band and its mesmerising light show - you’ll know that it’s also as magical a musical experience as you’re likely to find anywhere in the medium. The temptation to bandy about the word ‘transcendental’ turns out to be just too strong.
The show sees Simon Green weaving his songs into extended, hypnotic, truly live versions of themselves. The propulsive, garage-inflected drums, technicolour synths, seductive vocal soar of Szjerdene and, most of all, the uncanny ability of Green himself to paint feelings and mood in music, have wowed audiences across the globe. It’s everything live music should be; no mere rendition, but a big, shared, beautiful experience that approaches the (dare we say it) spiritual. Someone very talented has to work very hard to take an audience where a Bonobo show does.
To document, celebrate and enjoy this live performance in all its glory, all over again, Ninja Tune presents The North Borders Tour - Live. This live album will be released in deluxe packaging with a CD, a 70 page hardback book of photographs and stories from members of the band, as well as a bonus DVD featuring glimpses of hi-speed photography, capturing the euphoria of performances. There will be standalone CD and 2LP edition too, it’s an exhaustive, beautifully captured record of the show. The audio and video were recorded and filmed at The Roundhouse in London and in the incredible Pula Arena, a genuine Roman Amphitheatre constructed in 27 BC – 68 AD, and among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the World. In addition, some of the tracks on CD are handpicked from breathtaking live radio sessions that happened whilst on tour. Packaged with the DVD will be moments of documentary footage filmed as the tour reached California, a high point of its giant run.
Ninja Tune also recently released Bonobo’s Ten Tigers 12”, which features a brand new Bonobo track from The North Borders recording sessions, entitled ‘Duals.’ The 12” is available in stores as this goes to press.
And then the last chance to see The North Borders live show in all its glory at Alexandra Palace on 28 November 2014. There could be few better venues in which to enjoy it.

Over the years of listening to Emancipator, this album has grown to be my favourite. The melancholy and mysticism in it is so captivating. Amazing orchestration of all the different layers. And just lately I’ve come to realize how strongly it’s a guitar-based album. Antti Kailio

can you make another batch with limited numbers ? I would love to add this album to my vinyl record collection but I'm not too happy to pay $800 for second hand vinyl on eBay.
